主 讲 人：Dr. Anca Birzescu (Bowling Green State University Firelands)
Anca Birzescu holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, and a M.A. in Communication Studies from Florida Atlantic University, Florida. She taught Communication and Women’s Studies courses at Bowling Green State University Firelands. Her research and teaching focus on communication and identity, digitally mediated communication and globalization, intercultural communication, ICTs for development, gender and media, and postcolonial and critical cultural studies. Other scholarly interests include Web 2.0 pedagogies and media and civic discourse in Eastern and Central Europe.
The lecture focuses on a critical ethnography of the Roma ethnic minority in contemporary Romanian urban spaces. Particular emphasis will be placed on the theoretical framework and methodology informing this study.
