“现在这么晚了，天气预报说有暴雨，你一个女孩子开车不安全，明早再回吧?”“不行，我今晚必须赶回去，我也看了天气预报，村里可能发生洪涝...."

 “It's quite late now, and the weather forecast says a rainstorm is imminent. It’s dangerous for a young lady like you to drive alone at night. Can’t you go back tomorrow morning ?" "No, I must go back tonight. I have watched the weather forecast, and I’m afraid that the rainstorm may cause a flood in the village ..."

6月16日，利用周未刚刚回到百色市田阳县探望病重父亲的黄文秀，不顾家人劝阻，还是决定当晚开车返回乐业县。

On June 16, Huang Wenxiu, who just returned to Tianyang County to visit her seriously ill father on the weekend, decided to drive back to Leye County the very night despite the discouragement from her family.

当晚天气及断恶劣，车被积水包围，此时，凌云县交警大队副大队长席道怀和同事开车途经，黄文秀向他们求助，席道怀决定自己帮黄文秀把车驶离积水路段，让黄文秀坐上同事的车。等他把车开到安全地带，却发现黄文秀乘坐的车辆没跟上来。

The weather was extremely bad and the road was waterlogged. At that time Xi Daohuai, the deputy captain of the traffic police brigade in Lingyun County, was driving past the area with his colleagues. When Huang Wenxiu asked them for help, Xi decided to drive her car away from the waterlogged road, and told Huang to get on his colleagues' car. After he drove to safety, he found that the vehicle Huang  was in didn't follow up.

17日6点多，席道怀再次前往失联路段,发现塌方。18日11时32分，救援人员在下游河道发现了黄文秀的遗体。席道怀的同事也一同殉职。

At 6 o'clock on the 17th, Xi Daohuai went back to the site where they lost touch with Huang Wenxiu, only to find that landslips occurred there. At 11:32 on the 18th, rescue workers found Huang Wenxiu's body in the lower course of river. Xi Daohuai's colleagues also died in line of duty.
