诗言志，歌咏言。”老一辈革命家对马克思主义有着坚定的信仰，他们在革命过程中留下的大量诗词，毫不隐晦地表达了自己对信仰的坚定，在今天看来依然震撼人心，砥砺后人。夏明翰烈士在其就义之前写下了：“砍头不要紧，只要主义真。杀了夏明翰，还有后来人。”方志敏面对死亡的威胁，在狱中写下了这样的诗句：“敌人只能砍下我们的头颅，决不能动摇我们的信仰！因为我们信仰的主义，乃是宇宙的真理！为着共产主义牺牲，为着苏维埃流血，那是我们十分情愿的啊！朱也赤在1928年被捕牺牲，在狱中面对敌人的威逼利诱，不为所动，慨然写下了：“为主义牺牲，为工农死节。不负天地生，无污父母血！”

Because Marxism that we believe in is the truth of the universe! Sacrificing for communism and bleeding for the Soviets, that is our very desire!" Zhu Yechi was arrested and sacrificed in 1928. In face of enemies' coercion and temptation, he was unmoved and wrote: "Sacrifice for Marxism, die for the workers and peasants. Live up to heaven and earth, bring no shame on parents!"

董必武老人革命一生，1975年3月，已经90高龄的他写下了这样的诗句：“九十光阴瞬息过，吾生多难感蹉跎。五朝弊政皆亲历，一代新规要渐磨。彻底革心兼革面，随人治岭与治河。遵从马列无不胜，深信前途会伐柯。”1964年8月，陈毅元帅已经63岁了，在生日当天，他写下了一首抒怀诗，回顾总结自己参加革命以来的历程，陈毅元帅最后用“马列最伟大，世界正归心”作为结句，来表明自己信仰马列，遵循马列的一生。

这些老一辈革命家，他们有的看到了新中国的诞生，有的没有等到新中国诞生就献出了年轻的生命；有的为后人所熟悉，有的并不为后人所熟知……但从他们留下的诗词中可以看出，他们身上体现了对于共产主义的坚定信仰，他们都无愧于共产党员这个光荣称号。
